The Beuron School and Liturgy

Subject of my work is the Beuronese art and its relation to the liturgy. The first part concerns generally the beuronese confederation, its foundation, historical development and expansion. The piece draws the creation and the basic solutions of the confederation, coming of the Beuron Art School as an individual style, and presents the most important beuronese performers. The study also surveys the main works of the Beuron Art School and evaluates the School's influence on the main art streams of the period. The work then tries to describe and clarify the relationship between the beuronese conception of sacral art and liturgy using examples of the two most important Prague beuronese monasteries. For this purpose it analyses so called beuronese "Gesamtkunstwerk", using knowledge of the Christian iconography.

The Way of the Cross in Bohemia after 1945 This bachelor thesis deals with survey on modern Ways of the Cross created after 1945 in Bohemia. The first part of this thesis is concerned with the development and the history of the Ways of the Cross. The kinds and the forms of the Ways of the Cross are distinguished here as well. This part also contains the summary of several original Czech Calvarias and the Way of the Cross. The following chapter introduces the of the depiction of particular stations and also contains the summary of new Czech Ways of the Cross. Artworks Created on the Occasion of the Beatification of the Fourteen Prague Martyrs

Artworks Created on the Occasion of the Beatification of the Fourteen Prague Martyrs This bachelor's thesis deals with creation and description of all works of art created for the occasion of the beatification of Frederic Bachstein and his thirteen companions. First, in the historic part recalls the tragic event of death Fourteen Prague Martyrs Mo- nastery of Our Lady of the Snows. It represents the development of respect and efforts towards the famous beatification of 13 October 2012. The thesis also notes selected examples views of martyrs and their iconography. It focuses primarily on documenting art competition for beatification image. Shortly represents all participating artists espe- cially the author of the winning design of the famous painter Thomas Císařovský. It also presents the authors of works of art created for the beatification. They are: new wooden reliquary, commemorative medals and commemorative graphic sheet. The work is fo- cused in addition to documenting contributions and exceptional events which undoub- tedly is the first beatification held in Prague, also pointing out the still important pro- blematic dialogue of the Church and contemporary art.
